For
TONDEO, history could not start anywhere else but in Solingen,
the World's premier address for blades and cutting edges. The
businessman Adolf Noss founded a razor blade factory in Solingen in
1931, which was taken over by
TONDEO
in 1949. Even then the
TONDEO
plant delivered exclusively to barbers. Since 1956, in
addition to blades,
TONDEO
has also produced its own
special haircutting equipment; since 1960 Solingen hair scissors,
and since 1976 the first hairstyling scissors from its own
production. In 1980
TONDEO
became a subsidiary of Wella
AG - giving it additional power to develop and implement new
ideas.
Today
TONDEO
is the leading producer of hair scissors in Germany - and
one of the top manufacturers in the world. The name
TONDEO
stands for quality made in Solingen and for trailblazing
innovations in scissors development. Pioneering
TONDEO
inventions include the ergonomic grip, the tulip form of
thinning scissors, and the screw adjustment with Turn-Stop
technology - a safety system that prevents the setting from being
too loose. With 30 patents in just ten years we are still a long
way from exhausting our potential for new ideas.
TONDEO
will continue to set new standards in the
future.
