When the Consumer
Association's Which? Magazine last tested kitchen scales back in
1996, two "Best Buy" recommendations were for models from the UK
market leader, Salter Housewares Ltd.
Now Salter has done it again with two "Best Buy"
choices in the August 2002 report and, once again, in each of the
mechanical and electronic types. Cited by Which? Magazine's testers
as a "clear winner" in the mechanical category, Salter's model 810
Multiweigh, is in fact the very same product as chosen last time.
"It's certainly been a top-performer in terms of consumer appeal
for many years" says Salter's UK Sales & Marketing Director,
Colin Woolven, "as shown by the consistency of these report
findings and previous Best buy accolades from others such as from
the BBC Good Food Guide" With sleek yet practical styling, a
rotating dial for easy add & weigh use, and a large 2 litre
mixing bowl, the Multiweigh weighs up to 4kg/9lb.
Already an award winner
within the housewares trade*, the second Which? best buy choice of
the Salter Model 1004 "block" scale, is a welcome recognition from
the consumer angle, according to Colin, "We aim to lead by design
in our industry, and it's rewarding to see the 1004, with it's very
unique & minimalist styling, finding such favour with trade
& consumer experts, on top of outstanding sales for this item"
(*Progresive Housewares/CHA Excellence in Homewares award
2001)
The Salter 1004 has an easy to
read highly accurate LCD display weighing up to 5kg/11lb and down
to 2g or 1/8oz increments, powered by lithium batteries (supplied).
A large flat stainless steel platform is ideal for use without a
bowl, or the scale is set at the touch of a button to allow for
most kitchen bowls.
