Dennys
Dennys
Denny's is the catering division of Wood Harris Ltd. Wood Harris, incorporated in the 1870's, was originally based in the North of England. From its inception it specialised in uniform and corporate wear. Wood Harris was purchased in 1984 by H.Sedgwick Ltd, a wholly owned Jubert Family Company. Wood Harris then bought Denny’s, a 150 year old UK based catering clothing company in 1996. The traditional product range was increased, and a new and innovative modern brand was developed. The British public responded well to the revolutionary ‘Le Chef’ large black and white check trousers, a range of strikingly coloured jackets and a whole host of other accessories. Following success in the UK market, a strong export market particularly to Europe has been developed. We stock over 550 lines of Denny’s products, around 60% is chefs' wear. Chefs' wear garments are available in two distinct ranges; Denny’s and Le Chef. The obvious difference between the two brands is the cut. Denny’s garments have a traditional (suit) cut, whereas the Le Chef have a modern, baggy (jogging) cut. Le Chef is the mainstream export product. The lack of modern chefs' wear in Europe has made the Le Chef garments very popular. Within its traditional range, Denny’s has a collection of multicoloured chefs’ hats, aprons, cloths, neckties and, of course, chefs’ jackets.
Felco
Felco
Located in the heart of the Swiss Jura, between Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds, FELCO SA is in a region that is famous for its prestigious watch manufacturers, synonymous with quality and know-how. It all began in 1945 when Félix Flisch, using his own drawing board, designed his first forged aluminium pruning shear and manufactured a high-quality and exceptionally durable tool adapted to its user. Time has gone by, however, the same spirit and objective remain the dawn of the new millennium. FELCO, as a standard reference for professional cutting and pruning, has confirmed its position as a world leader in the pruning shears and cable cutters market. The design of any project in FELCO SA aims to meet clients' expectations fully, according to their individual needs. In fact, the ergonomic shape, comfort and ease of maintenance of the tools, the after-sales service and world-wide deliveries, are all treated as elements of the greatest importance. This spirit, which has prevailed throughout more than 50 years of tool manufacture, is based on a desire for complete precision, a team spirit between the various departments in the company, and a willingness to introduce innovations. In response to advances in technology, FELCO tools are subjected to the most sophisticated of checks and tests. The materials and components, which guarantee a superior quality, are all carefully selected.
Global
Global
Global knives are unique in the world of fine cutlery, first designed in 1986 by Komin Yamada whose task was to develop a range of knives which was truly new and revolutionary by harnessing the best materials available and the most modern design concepts. With an almost unlimited budget he was to fashion a series of kitchen knives which would appeal to the professional and amateur chef alike, be comfortable and easy to handle, and meet their most demanding requirements. Razor sharp and exceptionally light, the blades utilize Molybdenum/vanadium stainless steel, ice tempered and hardened to Rockwell C56-58. The steel used is harder than in traditional German cutlery, which gives Global knives a noticeably sharper edge and the Global edge is truly its signature. The majority of Global knives are sharpened or ground straight to a point rather than bevelled resulting in a dramatically sharper knife which stays sharper longer. The edge is so large and prominent that it is easily seen with the naked eye and extends a quarter inch or more onto the blade of the knife. Global's thin blades also make Global significantly lighter than other knives, and this lightness, combined with their superb balance, make them easy to control and a joy to use. Made by Yoshida Metal Industry Co. Ltd. in Niigata, Japan, Global knives are covered by a lifetime warranty against any manufacturing defect. Please note that our knives are not for sale to persons under the age of 18. By placing an order for this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age or over. Kasumi

Kasumi knives are made using the traditional Japanese technique of sword making. The main cutting edge of a KASUMI knife is made of V-Gold No. 10 carbon stainless steel that has been developed especially for knives. The blades are hardened to Rockwell C59 - 60 degrees, and therefore keep a sharper cutting edge longer than most other knives. The KASUMI damascus pattern you see on both sides of the knives is the result of repeated folding and forging of fine stainless steel into multiple layers. These prestigious knives would make the ideal special gift for a chef or serious cook. Please note that our knives are not for sale to persons under the age of 18. Maitre De
Maitre De
Maitre De Cuisine. Professional quality products manufactured in Thiers, home of the French cutlery industry since the 15th century. It was here in Thiers that the SABATIER knife was born at the beginning of the 19th century, a professional knife for cooks and butchers that actually bore the name of a family from Thiers, but which family? The family of Jean SABATIER from Le Moûtier or of Philippe SABATIER from Bellevue? This was a time well before the first French legislation concerning intellectual property rights and in those days registration of a brand name had to be accompanied by a word or traditional image. This then was the somewhat hazy legal context in which several companies registered the SABATIER brand in France. In 1979 the various holders of the SABATIER brand decided to form an association to defend the brand name. When selecting a brand of Sabatier it is therefore essential to ensure that it is a genuine quality branded product manufactured in Thiers, France, by a bona- fide Sabatier company. Maitre de Cuisine Sabatier knives are made from the finest quality molybedenum stainless steel. This guarantees a longer lasting razor sharp edge, which is easy to maintain. With Sabatier Maître de Cuisine, you are guaranteed that the knife is a 100% MADE IN FRANCE product manufactured by an original SABATIER Company. Toffeln
Toffeln
Toffeln began as a clog manufacturing company. Established in 1981, they grew tired of working year after year with two basic colours - black and white - and two basic styles - smiths' and sling-back. The first step they took was to introduce Standard Plus, which in one stroke added some 60 new colours to the range. They continued with Fantasy, Patent and Pony and the success was instant. Instead of expanding production capabilities they decided to concentrate on design, marketing and sales of clogs, outsourcing most of the manufacturing to neighbouring subcontractors. Thanks to their good name, they are frequently asked to represent other Swedish and European clog makers. Today AM-TOFFELN™ can offer a broad spectrum of styles, ranging from the classical black smith's clog to the most extreme fashion clogs; from high heel sandalettes to heavy duty steel-toed working clogs; from the stable stiffness of wooden soles to the full flexibility of PU.
Tojiro Senkou
Tojiro Senkou
Celebrity Chef Heston Blumenthal, owner of the 3-Michelin Star Fat Duck restaurant in Bray is officially endorsing the Tojiro Senko knife range. The Fat Duck was also voted 'The Best Restaurant in the World' in 2006. Senkou is the Japanese for "Flash of Light and Inspiration". Made by folding and hammering multi layers of steel to produce the floating mist Damascus-type blades, first seen in Syria about 400AD and then adopted by Japanese Samurai sword smiths. This process of laminating different types of steel means the cutting edge can be extremely sharp but the blade retains flexibility and strength. The Senkou range start with the smaller knives having 37 layers of steel up to 63 layers in the bigger knives. The handles are made from Micarta (multi layers of linen and resin) and have a stainless steel inlay, which can be engraved. These knives, as all top of the range knives, should never be put through a dishwasher and should ideally be washed and dried as soon as they are finished with. As part of his endorsement, Heston Blumenthal used the knives in his recent BBC2 series entitled 'In Search of Perfection' Click here to visit the Manufacturers website for further information. Zippo
Zippo
Zippo was founded in Bradford, Pennsylvania in 1932 when George G. Blaisdell decided to create a lighter that would look good and be easy to use. Blaisdell obtained the rights for an Austrian windproof lighter with a removable top, and re-designed it to his own requirements. He made the case rectangular and attached the lid to the bottom with a welded hinge, and surrounded the wick with a windhood. Fascinated by another recent invention, the zipper, Blaisdell called his new lighter "Zippo", and backed it with a Lifetime Guarantee. Today Zippo has produced over 325 million windproof lighters since its founding in 1932. Except for improvements in the flint wheel and modifications in case finishes, Blaisdell's original design remains virtually unchanged today. The Lifetime Guarantee that accompanies every Zippo metal product still guarantees that "It works or we fix it free". Zippo has expanded its sales operations nationally and internationally through a wide network of sales representatives. In more than 120 countries throughout the world, Zippo is synonymous with American made quality and craftsmanship. The company produces the Zippo Lighter Collectors' Guide containing illustrations of the lighters and descriptions of the series, as well as an explanation of the date code found on the bottom of every Zippo lighter. Clubs for lighter collectors have been organized in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan and the United States. There is now a club for UK collectors, the Zippo UK Collectors Club.
